We’ve got the ultimate lineup for your Hallo-weed movie marathon. Trust us—these flicks are guaranteed to have you saying, “Wait... what?” while you reach for another handful of chips. Let’s dive in!

5. Carved

This one is brand new, out in 2024. Not to be confused with Carved: the Slit Mouthed Woman, which will give you nightmares for years (ask us how we know), this Carved follows a group of staff at a pioneer village as they work together to survive the attack of a killer pumpkin. Set in 1993, this movie is full of kitsch, and the fact that no one has a cell phone really adds to the believability if that’s an important aspect of killer pumpkin films for you. It has plenty of gore, great atmosphere, and a surprisingly empathetic murderous gourd. Well rounded, a fun watch!

4. Werewolves Within

Werewolves within is a surprising and fun whodunit. When a snowstorm traps town residents together amidst a gory wave of murders by an unknown wild animal, the newly arrived forest ranger and the town postal worker work to keep the peace and uncover the truth. This lighthearted horror will keep you guessing until the very end.

3. Tucker and Dale vs. Evil

Like Friday the 13th took an edible, Tucker and Dale is a hilarious twist on the slasher genre. This movie follows two lovable hillbillies and good Samaritans, Tucker and Dale, who just want to enjoy their vacation. Chaos ensues as a group of college students try to find their missing friend, and spiral into absurd bloodbaths that will leave you (and them) dying of laughter.

2. What We Do in the Shadows

This Sundance Mockumentary follows a group of roommates as they struggle through the mundanity of their day-to-day lives as vampires. They argue about chores, go clubbing, and struggle with ancient vampire rules – all while a documentary crew captures their (mis)adventures. This New Zealand comedy is charming, witty, and shockingly relatable.

1. Shaun of the Dead

This cult classic, balances witty British humor with genuine zombie thrills. It follows Shaun, a 30 something loser going about his blah existence, when the apocalypse begins. As London fills with zombies, Shaun with the slightly blundering help of his best friend Ed must rise to the occasion and get to his girl. It’s got just the right amount of gore, slapstick, and absurdity landing it a prime spot as our top pick!

Happy Hallowe'en!
